Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS)

As of April, 2007, there are three ICP mass spectrometers in the laboratory, two of which are operated by Prof. Ariel Anbar's group. and the third (a second Neptune) is operated by Prof. Meenakshi Wadhwa's group.

The Thermo X Series quadrupole ICP-MS with Collision Cell Technology allows us to rapidly measure metal, REE and some major element concentrations in a wide variety of sample types and over a large dynamic range.

The Thermo Neptune MC-ICP-MS is designed for high-precision isotope ratio analyses of much of the periodic table and has high mass resolution to resolve polyatomic interferences from the analytes of interest.

If you have an interest in either of these instruments please contact Ariel Anbar.
